Neema and Sid Go Totally Off Grid was named the overall winner of this year’s Back in the Box screenwriting competition. The contest is sponsored by Fernleif Productions, an L.A. production company and distributor. Jurors are industry professionals.
From the Fernleif Productions website:
“The Back in the Box Competition is a way for screenplay writers to present their concepts and ideas to Fernleif Productions for possible collaboration or acquisition. Each year, the top winners are awarded cash and other prizes in order to help them get their project off the page and onto the screen.” See: http://www.moviebytes.com/newsstory.cfm?storyid=5058
Note to Neema and Sid: What can I say, girls. I’m speechless. Of course, I was hoping you’d make a successful debut at your first film festival, but you just walked away with the top prize! Keep this up, and someday you’ll have your own movie or TV series.
Neema and Sid Go Totally Off Grid has been accepted to the SPFW (Sound, Photography, Film Week) conference in Zurich, sponsored by IFDb, and is also a finalist in the Back in the Box screenplay competition in L.A., sponsored by Fernleif Productions.
Note to Neema and Sid: It’s a good thing you are a world-class pilot, Sid, and Neema is such a social media diva. Otherwise, I’d be worried that I might never see you two charmers again.
Neema and Sid Go Totally Off Grid has been chosen as an Official Selection to the Miami International Science Fiction Festival (MiSciFi), to be held at the Hyatt Regency January 17-19.

Note to Neema and Sid: You’ll be pleased that the judges thought you both leapt off the page as “distinct individuals.” They described the story of your unusual friendship as highly imaginative, visually engaging, and even kind of “cute.” Don’t let that last bit get to your heads, though!
